As an aquatic ecologist working in Canberra for the last 27 years, I have worked extensively on these 3 species. Aquatic species in general aren’t as recognised as terrestrial or flying animals and these 3 species are even more cryptic with much of the research on the crayfish only occurring in the last few years.
