I begin a new story every time I encounter a new animal in my own garden. They share my space and feel like companions, so I love making new acquaintances and seeing what they get up to. In the Autumn I had a beautiful praying mantis spend a whole month in our herb garden. She was beautiful and it was so lovely to see her there every day. I was so sad when I found that she had died, but she left behind an egg case! I’m really hoping it hatches! I’ve been checking frequently ever since the weather started to warm!
