I used to live in Braddon, directly opposite Haig Park and one morning at about 8am there was an owl on my balcony. I’m not sure the specific species but it was possibly a masked owl. It was perched on a chair and just looked at me through the window. After a minute it opened its wings and took off into the morning sun. I suspect it lived close by and I have read stories of other owls living in Haig Park, but I never saw another in the two years I lived there.
